Main research interest regards mycotoxin producing fungi, fungal ecology, epidemiology, modelling, Decision Support System, plant pathogen interaction, cropping system. Research activity was focused on black aspergilli and ochratoxin A in grapes and wine, Fusarium verticillioides and fumonisin in maize, Aspergillus flavus and aflatoxin in maize, ochratoxin A in dry cured meat, mycotoxins and related fungi in cheese, Diaporthe spp and hazelnut rot.

She was involved in several national and international projects, still ongoing “Integrated and innovative key actions for mycotoxin management in the food and feed chain”– MYCOkey (GA n.678781) in Horizon 2020 and “Mycotoxin mixtures in food and feed: holistic, innovative, flexible risk assessment modelling approach – MYCHIF”, (GP/EFSA/AFSCO/2016/01) granted by EFSA, as coordinator.

She is author of more than 100 papers in peer reviewed journals and chapters in several books.
