ANDREAS KOUROUMALIS

Andreas Kouroumalis is a Scientific Officer at the European Medicines Agency (EMA) where he works in the Endocrinology, Metabolism and Cardiovascular Office. He received his Ph.D. in Immunology from the University of Bath (UK) before taking up a Career Development Fellowship at the Medical Research Council’s National Institute for Medical Research in London. He then joined the UK’s Medicines and Healthcare products Regulatory Agency (MHRA). During his time at the MHRA he developed his interest in Risk Management and Benefit/Risk assessment of medicinal products and was involved in a number of European-wide drug safety reviews. Shortly after joining the EMA, he became a member of the Agency’s Benefit/Risk Steering Group which oversees the Benefit/Risk evaluation processes of the Agency’s Scientific Committees.
